Group Sessions

Throughout the programme, you have a variety of group sessions.  You start off with a one‑week full-time session to review and consolidate your current skills.  You will also have four other one-week full-time sessions throughout the remaining months.  Each intensive one-week session prepares you for the next phase of the programme. 

Throughout the programme, you meet every two weeks in group sessions for practise and learning.  Each bi-weekly group session, called Discussion Forums, allows you to develop your communications skills (description, explanation, narration, opinion) and strategies. 

Each Discussion Forum requires your active participation (not just attendance) and some preparation work.  Each Discussion Forum has a theme and the participants are assigned specific roles.  As the roles are assigned in advance, your clearly understand what is expected of you.  This could include making a presentation on the theme and the linguistic task being studied.  Consequently, you need to make time in between sessions to prepare your presentation and conduct the appropriate assignment, just as you would in preparing for a meeting at work.  The instructor will provide clear instructions to you during the weekly one-on-one session and provide you with the assistance you require.  You are not left to fend for yourself; your instructor is your coach who wants you to succeed.
